We're back!

So I'm back from Denver and the store will be open tomorrow from 2-7p. Knit hats from local knitter extraordinaire - Heidi Allen- are here! I'll also be putting out belts, bags, and long sleeve tees from another Burlington local, Joanne Kalisz. I'll have pictures up tomorrow!

Also- tomorrow is the first of August and you can finally cash in those postcards you've been seeing around town for 10% off your entire purchase! And if you don't have a postcard, go get a Seven Days and cut out our ad which is also good for 10% off.

Closed for a few days

Just wanted to remind everyone that the store will be closed tomorrow, July 27th until Mon. July 31st. We will re-open on Aug. 1st and will be open from 2p-7p from the 1st-3rd.

First Weekend

So I'd have to say that the first weekend was a success. Especially since no one knows that my store even exists! Kevin rode around on his bike all day Saturday handing out postcards and people actually saw them and actually came in! I'll be handing out more postcards all week and next week my first ad is running in 7 Days.
Wallets from Polaire came in over the weekend and so did earrings from Burlington local Lauren Wool. I should be finished putting them out by tomorrow so come and check them out! Hours for the rest of the week are 2p-7p Tues-Fri.

Open for Business

I'm finally ready to open the store! It's been a lot of work but I know that all those late nights will pay off in the end. This weekend, the store will be open from noon-6p both Sat & Sun. Hope you can make it!

Who knew? 2 Ikeas

Did you know that there are 2 Ikeas in Quebec!!! Well I didn't until yesterday. But we went there last night and they had everything I needed! I'm sorry I ever doubted you Ikea.

And everyone should listen to the Ditty Bops!

No Love for Ikea

On Sat., Kevin and I woke up real early to drive to Montreal and pick up some stuff for the store at Ikea. So we get to the border and I of course tell them that I'm born in Italy. Well I don't have my passport with me and the Canadians don't believe that I'm American so we get stuck waiting at the border for an hour! When we finally get to Ikea guess what? IT'S CLOSED! Because it's Canada Day and I had no idea! So we drive back to Burlington and decide that we'll just wake up real early and drive back the next day.

Crossing the border on Sun is easy but I did bring my passport this time just in case. We get to Ikea no problem and go through, writing down the aisle and bin number for all of the items we have to get in the self serve area. Wouldn't you know that when we get to the self serve area, the 3 most important items on my list are sold out!

No big deal though, I got a lot of other stuff and I figured I'd just order them online. When we get home I place my order and even though shipping costs almost double what I'm actually paying for the items, I really have no choice at this point. But then I find out that it's going to take 2 weeks to get here! I'm suppossed to be open in 2 weeks! So I canceled my order.

The next morning, I call Ikea in Montreal to see when they'll be receiving the items I want and wouldn't you know that they won't be in stock for at least another week and they don't do special orders...

So tomorrow, I'm heading to Target in Saratoga to find some substitute shelving. Hopefully they won't let me down!
