Halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeen

Usually, I'm not a big fan of Halloween. I can never decide what to be and when I do my costume never comes out like I planned.

But this year my Frida Kahlo costume was a hit!

We went to a party last night and only one person had no idea who I was. And one girl asked if I was Salma Hayek, which is close enough. I suppose that my eyebrows could have been closer together but when I was doing my makeup Kevin told me not to make them any bigger so that I could keep some sex appeal. HA!

Kevin went as Yosemite Sam. It was really just an excuse for him to wear an huge hat, cowboy boots, and play with guns. Boys will be boys...

Anyway- we had a great time and I'll be posting more pics to my Flickr page so you can see all of the shenanigans.

Have a great weekend!

Closing early tonight

Wow two posts in one day!

Anyway- I've decided to close a bit early today so that I can get the last few things I need for my Halloween costume. The store I need to go to closes at 6p so I will be closing the store at 5p today so that I can get there in time.

Hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone!

Is it only Wednesday?

So it's Wednesday and Project Runway is over! I guess I'll have to think of something else to do besides watching TV all night...

In other news, I went to Ben Franklin today (craft store in VT) and they wouldn't let me put up my flyer for Miss Hawklet's yarn spinning demonstration next week! They said they don't promote their competition! Well poo poo on you Ben Franklin because when I got to the store today I had a voicemail from the VT Guardian offering me FREE ad space this week in their VT Gift Guide. So HA! to Ben Franklin and Thank You! to the VT Guardian.

But seriously- come by next Friday for Miss Hawklet's spinning demo. There will be lots of yarn for sale and I'm sure that some of you have promised family members scarves and other knit goodies for Christmas this year, so it will be the perfect time to buy local and eco-friendly yarn.

AND- I'm adding a SALE section to the shopping site so be sure to check out all the great deals.

We were featured on the Craft Revolution Blogs Last Week!

And I didn't even know it! I was browsing the blogs today and came across the Oct. 19th entry that happened to be about the store. I love little discoveries like that. See what they wrote here.

Thanks Georgia!

Seven Days Article

So the Seven Days article is out! Read it here or if you live in the Burlington area pick up a copy.

Oh yeah and we made the cover! Ok so I don't know if it's technically considered the "cover" but we're on it! I would post a picture but it doesn't seem to be working for me today so go to my Flickr page to see pics.

So exciting!

I'm Off Today

So today is my first "real" day off. I don't have to be anywhere and I don't have to do anything- which leaves me to wonder, what do I do with my day off? It's been so long since I've had one I've actually forgotten! Oh well, I'm sure I'll think of something...

Anyway- A photographer from Seven Days came by the store on Sat morning to take some pics of the store. Catherine Slye from c22 and Kacey Boone from SubSixStudios were also there to be in the pictures. It just didn't seem right for me to be the only one in the picture since I'm not even making anything in the store. I think it went well and hopefully we don't look too bad. I think the article should be out on Wed. so pick up a copy of Seven Days if you're in the area, or read the article online at www.sevendaysvt.com

Have a good Monday!

Oh Wow

So the editor of our local weekly alternative publication (Seven Days) just stopped by the shop to interview me! About Vermont fashion! They're doing an article next week, so she came to talk to me about all of the awesome VT crafters in the store. Hopefully I said something good and my name (and the store's name) will be in the paper. I could definitely use the free advertising! Since it's gotten cooler out business has slowed down a bit so this should help.

Yay for Seven Days!

Back to work!

So Jess did a great job on Sunday; she even sold a few things! If she didn't lock herself out, and the lady didn't break the sticker stand it would have been a perfect day! Thanks again Jess!

I had a really fun two days. We spent 15 plus hours in the car which I could have done without, but the wedding was beautiful and I saw my little sis who just moved to Buffalo for a teaching job. She took us to Niagra Falls and to Duffs for the famous Buffalo wings. I'll be posting pics to my Flickr page soon so take a look at 'em!

I get two days off in a row!

I'm going to a wedding in Buffalo, NY this Sunday so Miss Jessica Smyth will be filling in for me. She's so nice for doing that! Come and visit her so she doesn't get lonely.

You should also come by the store to see a few new necklaces from SubSixStudios, note cards and pillows from c22, knit necklaces from Fredda Stroll and apparel from Laurel Wells. That's a lot of stuff!

It's also First Friday tonight so stop by and see Patty Breneman's amazing photos if you missed the opening last week.

Have a great weekend!
